What can stop you – The Power of Self Management; Questions for Mangers |
Key Note Speakers
Matt Stuller
Keynote Speaker Matt Stuller reveals all of his success secrets to this elite group via a live video link. You may or may not want to build a company worth tens of millions of dollars. But we all agree we want to take our individual enterprises to the next level and beyond. Matthew G. Stuller Sr. is founder, chief executive officer and global strategist of Stuller, Inc., North America’s largest jewelry manufacturer and distributor.
Starting with no capital or experience, Matt has built the largest and most impressive jewelry manufacturing and distribution business in the USA. Despite that achievement, he recognises that times have changed and independent retailers need to do things differently in order to remain viable. His vision for the future of the industry should not be missed or ignored.
David Brown
Retail performance coach David Brown will present a comprehensive, step by step, 100% proven business development program packed with easy to implement (and easy to delegate) strategies. As one of the principal presenters, David will make sure that all of the other presenters’ material comes together in a logical sequence that you can take home and start implementing immediately.
During David’s sessions you’ll learn how to fund your retirement; how to turn your underpaid ‘job’ into a profitable ‘business’; significantly increase your return on investment of time, effort and money; once and for all know how much inventory you need and answer the questions “how much should I pay my staff” and “how much should I spend on advertising”; how to take control and manage effectively rather than feeling like a passenger in your own business; reduce discounting and so much more. For a detailed break down of what David will cover please see the programme.

Chuck Lein
Chuck Lein presents on stage, while Matt Stuller speaks to you via live video link. Dr. Charles D. Lein, is the retired president and chief operating officer of Stuller Inc. Chuck has more than 27 years of experience in the jewelry, wholesale and retail industries.
Chuck’s extensive business qualifications, proven business acumen and insightful perspective enable him to share with you the secrets (and barriers) of how to grow a great business. If Chuck can take a $600 million business to $40 billion then he’s a man worth listening to and learning from.
John Whitaker (Jnr)
John Whitaker is a fourth generation jeweller, and the product of learning as much by osmosis from his father and grandfather as he did from his study at the Gemological Institute of America. John believes by observing personal taste and shapes in accessories and clothing, it’s possible to determine someone’s natural preference, which is very often reflected in their taste for jewellery – often without them realising it!
In this question and answer session, John will show you how to set and manage meaningful individual sales targets for your team. He will share with you his proven strategies for sustainable growth while maintaining a GMROI of more than 150. John will explain his transition from a high rental, high sales and high cost store in a major shopping centre to a specialist store concentrating on customized and personalized services and products with the main emphasis being about ‘Profit’ not just sales.

PRESSING THE RIGHT BUTTONS
Ever wondered why you instantly ‘click’ with some people you work with, yet there are some who can rub you up the wrong way – sometimes before they even open their mouth! We wish we could straighten out all those people – those very same people who want to straighten us out!
Regardless of where we work the common thread is that we all deal with people. Business transformation occurs when we understand, respect and celebrate each others’ differences. By understanding what motivates us, we find greater significance in who we are, meaning in our workplace, resulting in greater productivity. She will give us tools to manage, motivate and communicate effectively
Allison, an award winning, humorous speaker will show us how to utilise the 4 Critical keys of influence
- Work out what makes people tick.
- Speed read others to find out what they really want.
- See things as they see them. (in their shoes)
- Communicate in a way that makes people want to listen and buy
- Know what makes people love coming to work.
Lynn Baldwin
Lynn is Director of USA Operations for Retail Edge Consultants. His resume of Retail Jewelry store experience imparts a comprehensive track record of over 30 years of managing every aspect of the retail jewelry business.
His greatest professional pleasure comes from helping others avoid the struggles he had to overcome himself and he has worked tirelessly to this end.
This session is full of Lynn’s personal pearls of wisdom learned the hard way from working long, underpaid hours over many years at his own bench. He then began his transition to jewelry store owner and ultimately to become a sort after retail business coach. Expect great results from this session.
Conference MC – Mark Hadlow
Having been a professional actor for nearly thirty years it’s no surprise that Mark Hadlow is a household name in New Zealand. Lead roles, support roles, spear-carriers to musicals, his theatrical career has made him a jack-of-all-trades and master of a couple. From Shakespeare to Sheridan, and Pinter to Porter, reviews have always described his energy as electrifying and brilliant, and his comic timing is superb.
Mark recently appeared in the Peter Jackson block buster King Kong. In 1995 he won Entertainer of the Year and a year later Best Theatrical performance for S.N.A.G. In an age where professional experience is shadowed by the ethic of profit and cost cutting, here is a performer and actor whom inspires the belief in the craft and motivates not only himself, but also others around him to seize the moment and strive for success. In amongst all this he finds time to keep developing his writing skills and continues to be energised and enthusiastic, right on the edge of artistic creativity in the entertainment Industry.
